Recently, Corrface visited SDBP and discovered that SDBP began pivoting its business toward personalized and fragmented orders as early as five years ago, leveraging flexible carton production capabilities to tap into the differentiated packaging market.

Five years ago, SDBP began restructuring its business model: moving away from traditional packaging boxes for appliances like refrigerators and shifting towards fragmented orders for large-format, differentiated micro-flute corrugated products. This approach has aligned its market positioning with that of many international packaging groups.

Entering the post-print production workshop of SDBP, all equipment was operating at full capacity with speed and stability. Judging from the neatly stacked batches of freshly produced boards, it was clear that their orders are highly fragmented, predominantly consisting of large-format, small-volume runs. This is attributed to SDBP's decision to move away from using inline machines for producing regular slotted cartons, instead shifting its business focus toward extra-large, irregularly shaped boxes tailored for customized products.

To aggressively develop the differentiated packaging market for small-volume, fragmented orders, SDBP specifically introduced new equipment for production. For its post-print forming needs, it selected the "Big Cannon BM2800" from Aopack Ltd.. AOPACK is a high-tech enterprise focused on the R&D, production, sales, and service of intelligent carton-forming machinery, dedicated to providing customers with efficient and convenient carton-forming equipment and solutions. This "Big Cannon BM2800" integrates multiple functions including slotting, sheet splitting, and creasing. It features a maximum feeding width of 2.8 meters, can handle a maximum box height of up to 2.5 meters, and is capable of processing various board types from single E-flute up to 10mm thick. It is ideally suited for large-scale production scenarios like those in tier-2 packaging plants, making it the most fully featured and highly compatible machine in AOPACK's standard equipment line.

Furthermore, the "Big Cannon BM2800" is equipped with an oscillating knife, enabling it to carve even complex Chinese characters with pinpoint accuracy, making it exceptionally suitable for complex die-cutting needs requiring high precision and efficiency. Inside the workshop, staff used the AOPACK machine to carve the three Chinese characters " 全瓦通 " onto a carton. The strokes were clean and precise, fully demonstrating the machine's flexibility and capability in handling various irregular cutting requirements.

As Corrface has always emphasized, compared to regular slotted cartons produced by inline machines, the small-batch, customized market represents the future trend for the carton industry. This "Big Cannon BM2800" features automatic sheet feeding, quick job changeovers, multiple functions in one machine, and one-pass forming, making it suitable for most fragmented order production needs of both tier-2 and tier-3 plants. As differentiated orders become the market trend, it is believed that more and more tier-2 plants will enter the differentiated, fragmented order market in the future.
